♦ WHERE IS THE EVENT?

Main Street Station, (aka Union Station) 1 Main Street, Burlington, Vermont.

♦ ATTENTION TICKET HOLDERS:

Important ticket and boarding information for the Halloween Express.

Please read carefully!

You are invited to kick off your train ride by joining us for a pre-boarding party at Main Street Station. NOTE: Enter the station on the “rail side” around the back of the building. Your ticket permits you to arrive and enjoy the party 60 minutes prior to your train departure time. The party includes music, costumed characters and games! Please be sure to allot ample time for parking your car and for check-in at Main Street Station.

Entrance to the event is through the back doors (the “rail side”) at Main Street Station. You will be instructed by Halloween Express staff when it is time to board the train.

Each child will receive a free cookie and  juice while on the train.

REMINDER: We cannot accommodate strollers on the trains and space is very limited at Main Street Station. Please plan accordingly. All children must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.

♦ WHERE CAN I PARK?

Limited parking will be available in the parking lot, as well as in various waterfront parking lots and metered spaces throughout downtown Burlington. Parking and any fees associated with it are the responsibility of the ticket holder.

♦ LOOKING FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO THE EVENT?

Take the bus to Halloween Express! Green Mountain Transit’s College Street Shuttle (#11) drops off and picks up at the shelter located at the corner of College Street and Battery Street. For a complete list of routes and schedules – as well as information about GMT’s new RouteShout 2.0 mobile app and “track your bus in real-time” web portal – visit www.ridegmt.com.

♦ ARE THE TRAIN RIDES SCARY?

No, this is a kid- and family-friendly event. There will be Halloween-themed decorations on the train and in the station that may include fake spiders.

♦ CAN I TAKE PICTURES WITH THE COSTUMED CHARACTERS?

Yes, there will be opportunities for you to take pictures of your child with their favorite costumed characters!

♦ CAN I BRING A STROLLER ON THE TRAIN?

Strollers are not permitted on the trains. Please plan accordingly.

♦ SHOULD I WEAR A COSTUME?

Costumes are strongly encouraged! It is Halloween after all, isn’t it?

♦ DO I HAVE TO RIDE THE TRAIN WITH MY CHILD?

All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times (including train rides and pre-boarding party at Main Street Station). Both parents and children must have a ticket to ride the train.

Note:  There will be 1-2 attendants on all train cars.

♦ CAN I WAIT INSIDE MAIN STREET STATION WHILE FRIENDS/FAMILY ARE ON THEIR TRAIN RIDE?

You must have a ticket to enter the Halloween Express pre-boarding party at Main Street Station so if you did not purchase one for yourself, you will not be able to wait inside. Thank you for planning your pickups accordingly.

♦ CAN I BUY A TICKET TO THE PARTY ONLY?

No. All tickets include both the train ride and pre-boarding party at the Main Street Station. These cannot be purchased separately.

♦ DO I HAVE TO BUY A TICKET FOR MY 1-YEAR-OLD IF HE/SHE SITS ON MY LAP DURING THE TRAIN RIDE?

No. Children under age 1 may share a seat with an adult at no extra charge. EVERYONE over age 1 must have a ticket.

♦ WHAT DOES MY TICKET INCLUDE?

Ticket price includes:

-Pre-boarding party at Main Street Station in Burlington featuring games, music and dancing with popular costumed characters.

-Halloween Express Train ride, which departs from Main Street Station promptly one hour after the party starts and is approximately an hour in duration.

-On the train, your child will enjoy Halloween story time with a cookie and juice, popular costumed characters, a small goodie giveaway and more!

Allergy information: Cookies may contain trace amounts of nuts or are produced in a facility that processes tree nuts.

* All children must be accompanied by an adult and all must have a ticket (those under 1-year-old do not need a ticket if they share a seat with an adult).

 ♦ CAN I RE-ENTER MAIN STREET STATION AFTER MY RIDE?

Space is limited so you cannot re-enter the Halloween Express party area after your train ride as the next group of party-goers will already be enjoying their turn in the party space.

 ♦ ARE TICKETS REFUNDABLE?

Tickets are not refundable – this includes missing your scheduled departure time. We cannot accommodate you on a different ride time if you miss the scheduled time on your ticket. Please leave ample time for transportation to the event, as well as time to park your vehicle.

♦ WILL ALCOHOL BE SERVED?

No.

♦ ARE THERE DISCOUNTS FOR GROUPS?

♦ WHAT IF IT RAINS…OR SNOWS!?

The event will be held regardless of weather. If the railroad should have to cancel the train rides due to any unforeseen emergency circumstance, the rides will be rescheduled for a different date.

♦ PHOTO/VIDEO DISCLAIMER

Ticket holders acknowledge that the event may be broadcast or otherwise publicized, and hereby grants permission to utilize holder’s image or likeness in connection with any live or recorded transmission or reproduction of this event.
